Pearl is my great-aunt and the sister of my late grandmother. For years, she carried memories of their childhood, their family, their faith, and the life they shared.
I simply asked her to tell me about it.
What started as a phone conversation became something our family can now keep forever.

Meet the Founder
The Magnolia Archive grew out of something deeply personal to me.
I’ve spent years as a filmmaker telling the stories of other people, but I started thinking differently about storytelling when I turned the camera toward my own family. I began with my great-aunt Pearl, asking her to share memories of her life and the years she spent alongside my grandmother.
Those conversations reminded me how much of our family history lives in the people we love—the stories they tell, the photographs they kept, and the small memories we assume we’ll always remember.
That’s what The Magnolia Archive is here to preserve.
I want to help families hold onto those stories while they still have the chance to ask the questions, hear the voices, and learn a little more about the people who made them who they are.
